JC Shurburtt
JC Shurburtt has covered college athletics for more than two decades and is most well-known for his coverage of national college football recruiting at Rivals.com, ESPN.com and 247Sports. Shurburtt was the National Recruiting Editor at Rivals from 2004-07, worked with the World Wide Leader from 2007-10 and then helped start 247Sports as the National Director of Recruiting in 2010. His written works on recruiting have appeared across the spectrum of national sports outlets, including CBSSports.com, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, ESPN and others. In 2015, Shurburtt left the home office of 247Sports to focus on his local digital projects, which includes TheBigSpur.com, the largest and most active South Carolina Gamecocks news outlet and online community on the Internet. These days, you can catch him on Inside the Gamecocks The Show Monday through Friday, Tide 100.9-FM in Tuscaloosa on Wednesdays and of course, on the JC and Morgan Podcast. Shurburtt resides in suburban Chicago with his fiancee, their children, a dog and a turtle.

Mike Morgan began calling college football games for ESPN in 2009 and quickly added men’s college basketball and college baseball games for ESPN. He has been one of the regular faces and voices on SEC Network for all three sports since it launched in 2014. Morgan has also called college football games on ESPN Radio.

In addition, he can also be heard calling NFL games on National Radio for Compass Media, as well as hosting sports talk radio on SIRIUS XM 84 and SEC Channel 374. Morgan has also called several NBA games on television for the Atlanta Hawks.

Based in Atlanta, Morgan called select Atlanta Braves games on radio and television for the Atlanta Braves from 2010-14, as well as hosting the pregame and postgame shows. Morgan occasionally guest hosts on 680 The Fan in Atlanta.

Morgan was the play-by-play television voice for the Carolina Panthers’ NFL preseason games from 2009-13. He also called college football nationally on radio for multiple outlets including SportsUSA. He has called more than a dozen Bowl games on radio & TV. Morgan spent four years calling Big 12/Pac-12 football for Fox Sports before becoming full-time with ESPN.

The South Fla. native holds the unique distinction of being a graduate of one SEC school, and calling SEC games on radio & TV for another. His SEC journey started as the youngest voice in the conference, for the University of South Carolina baseball and basketball teams for 10 years, as well as the television voice for football from 2000-09. He also hosted a top-rated radio show, while calling NCAA Basketball Tournaments, three College World Series and NBA exhibition games on radio during his time in Columbia, S.C.

Recognized for his work as a play-by-play announcer, Morgan is a five-time winner of the NSSA Sportscaster of the Year award. He has been nominated for numerous regional Sports Emmys, including his work on the SEC Baseball Tournament for Comcast. He has also called Big 12 and Pac-12 college football and basketball games for Fox Sports for four seasons.

Morgan and his wife Summer currently reside in Atlanta.

When he’s not calling college games, Morgan can often be found speaking at universities and mentoring broadcasting students.
